On Nov 15th, a former official in Sanya stood trial for bribery at the First Intermediate People’s Court of Hainan Province, reports hinews.cn.
Zeng Qingquan, former director of Sana Municipal Planning Bureau, was accused of receiving a huge bribe of RMB 14 million under the cover of establishing a company with the bribers and receiving real estate as a gift.
According to prosecuting authority, the suspect has a personal fortune of RMB 21 million, and among the huge amount of the bribe, about RMB 5.8 million is still uncertain about where they came from.
The verdict will be announced another day, according to the report.
