Conrad Hotels & Resorts said Wednesday it plans to open 14 new luxury hotels over the next three years in countries such as Thailand, Portugal, China, United Arab Emirates and the U.S.

The company said it will open properties over the next 14 months in Sanya Haitang Bay, China; Koh Samui, Thailand; Algarve, Portugal; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and New York.

Another eight hotels will open by the end of 2013, the company said.

The expansion will roughly double the number of properties operated by Conrad Hotels, which is Hilton Worldwide’s global contemporary luxury brand.

“The expansion of Conrad Hotels & Resorts further into the Asian market as well as to our growing markets, such as the United States, are strategic milestones for us,” said John T. A. Vanderslice, global head of luxury and lifestyle brands for Hilton Worldwide.
