Sanya is set to launch a new batch of nearly 100 taxis in downtown in a bid to meet the increasing need for taxis in the city. These new taxis will run in the appointed places at appointed times, especially during holiday periods, according to the responsible department in Sanya.     
 
The taxis shortage in Sanya’s downtown is mainly due to the clash between the surging number of tourists and the invariable number of taxis. Another cause is the unfavorable condition of streets in Sanya’s downtown as most of them are too narrow. Traffic jams are easily caused in downtown area.
 
Most of the citizens claimed that it’s not a good way to solve the taxis shortage in Sanya’s downtown. They wish the government can find a better way to solve taxis the shortage in Sanya's downtown.
