China faces blood supply shortage in some cities [Photo/Xinhua]

Recently, large cities such as Kunming, Beijing, and Hefei have suffered acute blood shortages. Though Sanya still can handle the blood demand, it also is encountering an increasing urgent need for blood, reports hinews.cn.

The blood type “A” and type “O” are in urgent need, according to the report.

The increasing urgent need for blood in Sanya is mainly for the increased patients caused by heavy rain and flood and aging people who will need more blood but can’t donate blood.

Being faced with the increasing urgent need for blood, the Sanya Blood Centre encourages people to donate blood actively, as regular blood donation will do no harm to the human body but promote metabolism and strengthen body immunity.
