Sanya’s tourism revenue hits RMB 10 billion in Jan-Sep

This year, the tourism economy in Sanya has shown strong growth. The coastal city received 6.6379 million tourists in the first three quarters this year, with its total tourism revenue reaching over 10 billion yuan, up 21.6% over last year’s same period, hinews.com reports.
According to statistics, in the past nine months, room occupancy in Sanya’s hotels reached 61.83%, up 2.09% over last year’s. Meanwhile, volume of the passengers handled in Sanya Phoenix International Airport came up to 6.6379 million, up 20.7% over last year’s. Among them, domestic tourists who chose an overnight stay reached 6.3335 million while international tourists reached 0.3044 million, up 20.3% and 28.3% over last year’s respectively.
Sanya’s tourism revenues in the first three quarters reached 1.0 087billion yuan, up 21.6% than last year’s same period. Among them, domestic tourists created 8.86 billion yuan tourism income for Sanya, up 21.6% over last year’s. On the other hand, foreign exchange earnings from tourism in the first three quarters reached 0.18 billion dollars, up 23.3% over last year’s.
