A 17-year-old girl who works in a hotel in Sanya was accused of making false testimony and has been detained by police in Chengmai County, Hainan province on Oct 19th, reports ifeng.com. 
 
How has the girl turned from a victim of a rape case into a criminal suspect?
 
At around 5:00 am on July 29th, 2009, Xiao Ling (alias), was raped by Deng, the suspect. After being raped, Xiao Ling reported it to the local police, and Deng fled to other places.
 
After one year on the run, Deng was captured by police and he made a full confession of what he had done. Unexpectedly, Xiao Ling decided to withdraw the case and made a totally different testimony that she was willingly to have sex with Deng for they are lovers.
 
However, after investigation, it was proved that Xiao Ling took RMB 8,000 as compensation from Deng’s family and promised to withdraw the case.
 
The 17-year-old girl was very regretful for what she has done.
