Swimsuits and raindrops aren’t a good mix as the 2010 Miss World contestants discovered in Sanya China. The top 40 Beach Beauty (which includes Miss Bahamas Braneka Bassett) stood in bath robes while waiting for the rain to stop – but it held off just long enough to grab a few photographs in their beachwear before the heavens opened again.

Not to be put off by the rain storm some girls sang ‘Singing in the Rain’ and danced with parasols, while others enjoyed cups of green tea and fruit cocktails as they looked out across the bay from the hotel’s sun terrace. As an additional irony the girls were each presented with a beautiful fan as a memento of their day something that will come in more useful when the clouds clear again!
