Miss Botswana Emma Wareus named one of favourites to win Miss World
The 19-year old beauty queen, who is amongst eight models that are representing Southern Africa at the event, was nominated by bookmakers as joint third favourite to clinch the coveted title last Monday.
More than 120 contestants from across the globe are in camp in the cosmopolitan city of Sanya in China, for the event.
According to OLBG news, Wareus is sitting joint third on the bookmakers favourites list, as her odds to win the event are 17/2.
‘Kamilla Salgado Miss Brazil is the 7/1 favourite with, Miss Colombia Laura Restrepo has a good chance at 9/1….Two girls as joint favourites in Miss Botswana Emma Wareus and Miss India Manasvi Mamgai both are 17/2,’ said OLBG.
Wareus has impressed many followers of the Miss World pageant with her humility and striking beauty.
In her profile, she describes herself as strong, respectful and humble.
‘Strong, proud, independent is who I am, respect is what I answer to by a smile is what I wear always. I encompass solemnity, discipline, modesty and respect and I am a pillar of happiness and thrill for life,’ she said.
The other contestants from Southern Africa at the event are Zimbabwe’s Samantha Tshuma, Angola’s Ivaniltan Jones, Zindaba Hanzala from Zambia, Nicole Flint from South Africa, Odile Gertze from Namibia, Ella Kabambe from Malawi and Karabeho Mokoallo from Lesotho.
