Miss India Manasvi Mamgai upbeat over Miss World 2010 in Sanya
The Miss World pageant is scheduled for 30 October 2010 in Sanya, China. TOI catches up with Manasvi as she leaves for the big race, tonight…
How does it feel to be representing India?
It’s an unmatched feeling. There is no pressure on me, as I have been longing for this day for very long.
Are you excited or nervous? What’s on your mind?
I am 100 percent excited. I am confident of what I am and my capabilities. There is no scope of being nervous. I am just focusing on the crown at the moment.
In past few years, India hasn’t been very lucky at international pageants. Do you think you will break the jinx?
Definitely, I am looking forward to the pageant and want to make my country proud. I hope to meet mine and everyone’s expectations.
Are your friends and relatives planning to join you in China?
My mother will fly to China in the third week of October. Some of my friends may also be there on the final day.
You must have seen some of the contestants online; who all would you term as strong competitors?
I think I am the strongest contestant for the crown, so watch out for me!
Any lucky charms for the big day…
I don’t have any lucky charms as such. However, I firmly believe in the power of prayers. I just want to tell everyone to pray for me, that is only thing that I need now.
So let’s wish Manasvi all the luck and hope to see her come back home as Miss World 2010!
