Our newly crowned Miss Jamaica World beauty Chantal Raymond sets off on her journey to Sanya, China today, where she will compete for the Miss World 2010 crown against a bevy of beauties from around the world for the Miss World 2010 crown.

One of the most exciting things about copping this title is the fab clothing — and the members of The Jamaica Fashion & Apparel Cluster contributed 21 stylish ensembles.

The extensive wardrobe, which features casual, city-chic, day dresses, cocktail dresses, evening wear and surreal, figure-hugging gowns, was revealed last Wednesday at the Spartan Health Club.

Chantal will be wearing outfits by the following design houses:

– A lovely evening gown with flecks of gold by Fashion Whirl.- One-shoulder designs are all the rage this year, and this floral piece by Xing Designs Co provides a casual take on the trend.
– Chantal represents The Rock in our national colours with this PUMA ensemble.
– The MJW wardrobe would be incomplete without stunning beachwear from The Mushroom.
– Lebanese designer Joe Dargham’s MNM Couture line created this stunning crimson taffeta gown adorned with feathers and rhinestones, which Chantal will be wearing to the Miss World 2010 coronation show in China.

Bling Bling provided a selection of beautifully ornamented evening gowns for Chantal’s Miss World 2010 wardrobe. This gorgeous singlestrap gold sheath was contributed by SoHo boutique.

The Mushroom, SAMJS Collection, PUMA, Akira Lyn, Anarcy, T&T Fashions, Unik, Poshe, Julan, SoHo, Keneea Linton, Heather Laine, Fashion Whirl, Shades of Africa, Xing Designs Co and MNM Couture by up-and-coming Lebanese designer Joe Dargham, while Xtras, Bling Bling and Bubbles Bangles & Beads were the go-to choice for her trendy and sophisticated accessories.

Of course this is but the tip of the iceberg, as in order for Raymond to truly shine in among the world’s most beautiful women, she must ALWAYS look her best. As such, beauty experts –hairstylist Pauline Facey-Blake and make-up artist Marlene Gray — Maybelline official make-up provider for MJW — will accompany her on her journey.

AW shares a sneak peek at Chantal’s chic outfits and wishes her success as she jets off to China for the competition.
