The results of the ‘2010 Chinese Youth’s Favorite Tourist Destination’ were disclosed in Xiamen on Sept 8th.

Cities awarded this honor included Sanya, Kunming, Tengchong, Wuyuan, Jianchuan and Suzhou. Meanwhile, listed scenic spots include Gulangyu Island, Forbidden City, Mogao Grottoes, Shangri-La, Tengchong Volcano & Hot Springs, Yulong Mountain, XiShuangBanNa, Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors & Horses and Lijiang River.

Ever since 2006, this activity has been hosted 5 times. It is usually held by the China Youth newspaper and some other organizations.

The theme of this year’s activity is ‘Better life starts from communication, splendid youth comes from traveling’. It aims to strengthen cross-strait interaction between the youth, thus enabling them to have more opportunities to communicate by travel.

After two months’ voting, 137 tourist cities and 270 scenic spots were nominated. Over 4 million valid votes were received.
