Yoshimoto Tomoyuki, Vice Magistrate of Japan’s Hyogo, visits Sanya
Yoshimoto Tomoyuki (L) and Wu Yanjun (R)
The year of 2010 is a commemoration of 20-year friendship between Hainan Province and Hyogo Prefecture. In order to further enhance the mutual understanding and friendship and discuss the pragmatic cooperation in economy & trade, tourism and education between the two destinations, Yoshimoto Tomoyuki, the Vice Magistrate of Hyogo Prefecture and his nearly-50-people delegation arrived in Sanya on August 24 to start their 4-day visit in Hainan Province. On the afternoon of August 24, Wu Yanjun, the member of the standing committee of the CPC Sanya City Committee and Deputy Mayor, met with the delegation and introduced the briefing of Sanya City.
Yoshimoto Tomoyuki said that he had enjoyed the beautiful coastline of Sanya Bay on the way from the airport to the downtown area of Sanya. People say that Sanya is East Hawaii; however judging from the development and scale of its surrounding, it has exceeded Hawaii. Sanya pays attention to environmental protection, which is a very good train of thought. Hyogo Prefecture developed its industry in the last 1950s, turning the previously gorgeous beach into artificial coastline. The natural environment was changed. It is impossible to recover nowadays. The 21st century is an environmental protection one; therefore related work shall be further implemented with respect to creating beautiful environment.
Meanwhile Yoshimoto Tomoyuki said that it took eight hours flying from Japan to Hainan with a transfer in Guangzhou. However it only takes four hours from Japan to Hawaii. If direct route opens, it will only take more than four hours from Hyogo Prefecture to Sanya. Thus, the publicity of Sanya City by Hyogo Prefecture is able to truly put into effect. Yoshimoto Tomoyuki also said that there were direct flights between Haikou and Kansai Airport; however they were canceled for a variety of reasons. There are no non-stop flights in Sanya. He hoped to build an air bridge through the mutual effort to enhance the exchange of the two places.
As for this question, Wu Yanjun said that the government was carrying out relevant work. However regarding the opening of air routes, Hainan Province is communicating with relevant national departments in hope of opening international air lines as more as possible to facilitate international tourist as the development orientation for Hainan Island is International Tourism Destination which shall offer more conveniences to international tourists. Relevant policies are also gradually enforced.
