Sanya to build Haitang Bay into ‘Oriental Venice’
To meet the international tourism needs and promote the tourism image of the city, Sanya will put forth effort to build Haitang Bay into an “oriental Venice” by building a network of watercourses, reports sanya.hinews.cn.
The project will include a yacht dock, two lakes and three rivers in Haitang Bay, according to Mr. He Yongxiang, Engineer of Sanya Haitang Bay Development & Construction Co. The first-stage of the southern watercourse will reach a length of 1.9 kilometers, with 60 meters width in the main stem.
As the most important part of the whole project, the southern watercourse is estimated to be completed by the end of this November.
The watercourse will enlarge the proportion rate of water resources in Haitang Bay, improve the climate situation for tourism, and enhance the investment value of real estate in Haitang Bay.
In addition, the project will provide a better flood-draining capability to the city.
