The Rain Forest Challenge China campaign kicks off in Sanya

The press conference held at Hainan State Guest House in Haikou was the venue that kicks off the RFC (Rain Forest Challenge) China campaign. Most of state events and activities are held at this prestigeous venue and RFC China is included as a unique sports tourism event not only for Sanya, Hainan but for the whole of China. Present at the launch were the Director of Sanya Govt Sports Bureau Sanya Govt State Secretary, Chairman of International 4×4 Off-Road Rainforest Challenge Club (Lu Dajin) and the Founder of RFC (Luis J.A.Wee) and state officials.
This year, the event are held from 18-24 Aug in Sanya with greater collaboration from the government which sees the great potential of this sports tourism event to bring in both publicity and adventrue tourists to Hainan.
More than 50 teams, participants, officials and media are here for this second edition including from Malaysia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Philippines, UK, Vietnam, Denmark, Turkey, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Singapore, New Zealand, Germany and USA. The Malaysian contingent is the biggest foreign entry this year which includes the current Champion team from Sarawak.
But this time, the competiton for the top place will be very intense and fierce with so many good cars from overseas. It will be interesting to see the action to come. For the Chinese teams and enthusiasts, this year will be an exciting one to see, learn and experience from so many good teams coming. Opening day and Prologue Special Stages on 18 & 19 Aug are being held in the city of Sanya. The event will end on 24 Aug. All in, great 4×4 action to come from this Summer RFC.
