A Pantropical Spotted Dolphin of the southern Pacific was recently rescued on a Sanya beach, reports hinews.cn
The dolphin, 1.8 meters long and 75kg in weight, was found with an abdominal injury and infection near the beach of the Banyan Tree Resort of Luhuitou Peninsula in Sanya.
Upon receiving the emergency report from Sanya, the professional rescue workers from the Hainan Provincial Aquatic Wildlife Rescue Centre were immediately dispatched to offer emergency aid to the dolphin.
The dolphin was later sent to the Hainan Provincial Aquatic wildlife Rescue Centre for further treatment.
The Pantropical Spotted Dolphin is a second class national protected animal. It is a species of dolphin found in all the world’s temperate and tropical oceans.
