Hainan focuses on developing 70 festivals, exhibitions & competitive events
Hainan plans to help develop 70 festivals, exhibitions and sporting events within the next five years (2015-2020) to boost it into a competitive international tourism destination.
To promote the healthy development of the MICE industry, the Hainan Government will provide support for 23 meetings and conferences, including the Boao Forum for the Asian Annual Conference, the Roundtable Conference on China-Africa Cooperation, the Global Services Summit, the Inter-Island Tourism Policy Forum, the International Mathematics Forum, and 25 other cultural exhibitions such as the Hainan RendeVouz, the China Sanya Int’l Orchid Expo, and the Hainan Winter Trade Fair.
The plan also highlights 10 cultural festival and 15 competing events such as the Hainan Carnival, the Sanyuesan Festival, the Hainan International Food Festival, Miss World, the Wanning Surfing Festival, the Tour of Hainan Bicycle Race, and the Round Hainan Sailing Regatta.
To cater to the growing MICE market, Hainan is also improving its MICE facilities. Big MICE infrastructure under construction on the island includes the Sanya International Exhibition Center, the Haikou Wuyuanhe Culture and Sports Center, and the Boao International Exhibition Industry Park.
