As one of the 25 key projects in Haikou's Qiongshan District in 2013, the project of Hainan Airlines Company Limited (HNA)'s Sun Luna Plaza started construction on December 23.
 
Located on the south side of Guoxing Avenue, the project is designed to be a sunken plaza and will be equipped with facilities for shopping, entertainment, a cinema and museum. The project consists of one central city plaza and two comprehensive leisure areas for commercial and cultural services.

The central city plaza will feature a large underground business area with a multi-functional purpose of entertainment and a gathering and leisure area for the public.

The comprehensive leisure area for commercial and cultural services is designed to have multiple facilities including duty-free shops, bookstores, a department store, a cinema, club, theme park, museum, cultural exhibition hall and children's centre.

Upon completion, the project will be Hainan's first modern one-stop shopping center and international integrated commercial plaza.
