Hainan’s transport investment reaches RMB1.95 billion in first half of 2015
Sea-crossing bridge between Haikou and Wenchang is speeding up construction.
Hainan is accelerating the construction of transportation project across the island. Total investment in this sector reached 1.95 billion yuan in the first half of this year.
Construction on the road section linking Shimei Bay and Dahuajiao in Wanning is underway.
Eleven road sections have been listed as key provincial projects, including Shimei Bay to Dahuajiao in Wanning; Dinghai Bridge linking Haikou, Ding’an and Chengmai; Wencheng to Tonggu Ridge in Wenchang; The Yalong Bay-Haitang Bay road section improvement; and stretches of the highway from Wenchang to Qionghai.
The Tunchang-Haikou road section is open to traffic.
To develop the roads, the province will invest 18 billion yuan into a total of 1,100 km of tourism-oriented roads, while a comprehensive range of facilities will be completed by 2020.
