Hainan is striving to boost green tourism in its central regions.
Cities and counties in the central part of the island, including Baoting, Wuzhishan, and Qiongzhong are natural scenic regions for ecological and cultural tourism, thanks to their beautiful ecological environment, breathtaking mountain settings, fresh air, birdsong, and flowers.

To boost the development of green and cultural tourism in Hainan’s central region, these cities and counties are stepping up to integrate resources to build a “cultural tourism green belt” involving ecological culture, the culture of the Miao and Li ethnic groups, mountain sports, and rural culture.

Tourist visiting these central areas can explore the local ethnic cultures, folk customs, and traditional skills of the Li and Miao ethnic groups, including traditional architecture, costumes, religion, art, food and medicine.

To appeal to more tourists, a local governments are moving forward with a series of key tourism projects. Major tourism projects to boost promotions include the Litong Cultural Park, a facilities upgrade for the Wuzhishan canyon drift, Baihualing Ridge Tourism Zone in Qiongzhong County and improvements in infrastructure such as the comprehensive road signs and maps installed to support eco-tourism.
