Hainan have issued the orange alert for high temperature, high temps are expected to hit several of the island’s 12 cities and counties in over the next three days.
 
Tunchang, Chengmai, Qionghai, Lingao, Haikou, Baisha, Changjiang, Danzhou, Ding’an and Baoting will experience temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius.
 
The weather bureau urged people living in these regions to refrain from outdoor activities during the early afternoon, when temperatures will reach their peak. The bureau also asked outdoor laborers to take precautions against the hot weather.
 
China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
 
The temperature in most parts of Hainan Island is above 37 degrees Celsius.
