Hainan high-speed rail loop line completed
The new Hainan high-speed rail loop line was officially completed on June 30 as its western ring and eastern ring were connected to form a closed loop.
The 345-km-long western ring rail line starts from Haikou and travels to Sanya, passing through 6 cities and counties, namely, Chengmai, Lingao, Danzhou, Changjiang, Dongfang and Ledong.
Once the loop line is open, travelling time between all cities and counties in Hainan will be reduced to within three hours.
The Hainan western ring railway, due to be completed by the end of this year, will connect with the eastern ring that is already in service. Once completed, the high-speed railway will stretch more than 600 km around Hainan Island.
