Hainan Dinghai Bridge expected to open for traffic this year
Construction of Dinghai Bridge linking Haikou and Ding’an is underway and the bridge is expected to open for traffic this year.
As the city’s pioneering transport project, the bridge will shorten the travel distance from Ding’an to Haikou by 10 kilometers and travel time to 1 hour, expediting economic integration of the northern Hainan regions. Its construction has grabbed attention from all circles.
Apart from facilitating the development of Ding’an-Haikou transportation links, the bridge is also expected to spur the development of the Haikou Xiuying Distrct.
With a total investment of 460 billion yuan, the bridge, spanning a length of 1.645 kilometers, has four lanes in both directions with a designed running speed of 60 km/h.
Upon its completion, the Ding’an government is planning to open bus routes from Ding’an downtown to Haikou city center as well as Haikou Meilan Airport.
