The 2012 China & Korea Exhibition Industry (Haikou) CEO Forum was held at Haikou International Convention & Exhibition Center on December 16.

Mr. Xie Jing, the Deputy Mayor of the Haikou Government, explained that the government has issued relevant policies and will invest 35 million yuan to support the development of the exhibition industry, and said he hoped the event guests could offer more suggestions and bring more exhibitions to Haikou.

The Senior Executive Managing Director of the Korea International Trade Association Mr. Kim Moo Han said that the two regions had many similarities and both had great prospects for development in their respective exhibition industries, especially since Haikou is an official exhibition city. He said he hoped that the two regions could establish friendly cooperation to develop the exhibition industry.

The President of the Association of Korea Exhibition Industries Mr. Li Han Zhe said he hoped the meeting would expand cooperation in more fields between Korea and Haikou, such as agriculture and food.

According to Mr. Wu Jiahong, the Director of the Haikou Exhibition Bureau, Hainan has fostered a number of travel & leisure exhibitions for domestic and international tourists, such as the yacht exhibition, the golf exhibition and sports show. Besides, many activities with local characteristics have been held including Hainan Huanghuali wood exhibition, aloes exhibition and the exhibition of Li & Miao minority culture. As an international tourism island, Hainan will learn from the experiences of other tropical island cities to build its international reputation for exhibitions.
