An industrial expo to promote cooperation between China and countries and regions along the ancient Maritime Silk Road will be opening in in Hainan.

 

Scheduled to be held at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou from December 25th-27th, the 2015 Maritime Silk Road Cultural Expo aims to build an exchange platform and deepen strategic cooperation between China and countries situated along the ancient maritime trade route.

 

As one of China's main windows to the Asian-Pacific Region, Hainan Province will play an important role in the government's development strategy of "one belt and one road", i.e., the international economic corridors of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.

 

According to the organizers, the event will cover an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters and exhibition booths will be set up to promote the history of Hainan's trade and cultural links with countries along the route and to display competitive products and tourism resources to boost trade and cultural cooperation.

 

The event will also set up exhibition zones to promote investment and cross-border e-commerce and port logistics cooperation.
