In order to coordinate and promote urban and rural development, the Hainan Provincial government has plans to build a total of 100 tropical scenic towns with various characteristics during the period between 2011 and 2030.

 

 

By the end of 2014, 21 scenic towns have been completed, including Tanmen Town in Qionghai, Fushan Town in Chengmai, and Yunlong Town in Haikou.

 

 

This year, the Hainan government invested 140 million yuan in to the construction of these tropical scenic towns. Among them, the Guilinyang Scenic Town in Haikou and Wupo Scenic Town in Tunchang have been listed as the key cultural tourism projects of Hainan Province this year.

 

These towns, actively exploring international standards with local characteristics, will be another drawing card for Hainan tourism.
