Hainan Western Ring Railway expected to open by end of 2015
The Hainan Western Ring Railway will be up and running by the end of this year and will complete the island’s high-speed railway circle, according to the reports.
Built with a total investment of nearly 27.1 billion yuan, the western ring railway project started in September 2013.
The 345-km line has 17 stations and stretches across six cities and counties, with a designed annual cargo transport capacity of 10 million tons, and a designed passenger transport capacity of 50 million passengers.
The project involves the construction of 120 bridges and 13 tunnels and is expected to be completed at the end of this year.
This line is intended to facilitate easier travel between tourist destinations, including Haikou, Chengmai, Lingao, Danzhou, Changjiang, Dongdang, Ledong, Yacheng and Sanya
