Wuzhishan steps up efforts to build itself into healthcare destination
Wuzhishan of Hainan is stepping up efforts to build itself into a healthcare destination.
With an average annual temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, and air quality that is said to be some of the best in China, it is little wonder that Wuzhishan in Hainan province is becoming a popular getaway for city dwellers in the mainland.
To better boost the tourism industry, the Wuzhishan government has doubled its eco-tourism budgets to build infrastructure to support eco-tourism, as well as to develop other environmentally-friendly sectors.
Currently, a series of key tourism projects are moving forwardly smoothly. Major tourism projects to boost promotions include the Litong Cultural Park, Sanyuesan Square and facilities upgrading for the Wuzhishan canyon drift.
In recent years, the number of tourists visiting Wuzhishan has been increasing. Tourist numbers in 2014 grew 11.35% from the previous year to 1.31 million.
