New cruise ship to be put into operation on Xisha Islands cruise route
A revamped cruise ship is expected to be put into operation on the Xisha Islands cruise route around the National Day holiday this year.
The cruise ship, formerly known as ‘Yinhehai’, will soon undergo major refurbishments to acheive enhanced capacity at the end of this month, according to Hainan Strait Shipping Co., Ltd.
As the only cruise ship serving the cruise route, Coconut Princess sailed 40 times and carried nearly 6,000 tourists to Sansha last year. However, the current cruise ship only has 200 beds, which can’t meet the needs of the increasing tourist numbers.
With an annual passenger capacity of 20,000, the new cruise ship will join the current ship, Coconut Princess, to offer improved cruise services for guests.
