Wanning is stepping up efforts to court more tourists, pushing nature, cultural and health/well-being tourism to counter Sanya’s popular coastal appeal.
 
Because of its proximity to the beach, Wanning is already visited by many tourists. Several luxury hotels exist in the area to allow people to enjoy the gorgeous tropical scenery with top-tier accommodation.
 
 
This year, the government plans to further the development of new tourism projects, such as Xinglong coffee town, Xinglong national greenway, a surfing site in Riyue Bay, and other rural tourism facilities in Wentong Village, Lumatian Village, Quchong Village.
 
 
Also, a proposal will be put forth soon involving the improvement of Wanning’s transportation infrastructure and accommodation facilities to serve the development of tourism in the area.
 
Within the city’s boundaries are a range of villages, new and old, along with picturesque natural scenery and well-kept cultural traditions. Wanning will diversify its agro-tours, which offer not only home stays but also well-designed trips to Wanning’s most unique rural sites.
