Hainan is mulling over a new multi-stop transnational cruise route to several overseas destinations in the second half of this year, according to Lu Zhiyuan, director of Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Commission.

The multi-stop cruise service will connect overseas destinations like Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

The cruise route planning is under way and the exact cruise route is expected to be completed by the second half of the year, according to Lu.

Hainan has raised special funds and the local authorities will issue the supporting policies soon to further promote the development of the route.
