Hainan’s Tourist Price Index dropped 1.46% in February
Hainan’s Tourist Price Index (TPI) in February 2015 dropped 1.46% year-on-year, according to the figures released recently by the Provincial Price Bureau.
Of the TPI, the price indices of 3-star hotel accommodations, tour bus rentals and 4A-level scenic spots registered a year-on-year decrease of 7.7%, 7.33% and 6.58%, respectively, while 5-star hotel accommodations, 4-star hotel accommodations, car rental and airlines tickets increasing notably by 66.52%, 43.62%, 28.6% and 20.85%, the figures showed.
The data collection mainly comes from 145 tourism-related enterprises covering 9 major tourist cities and counties in Hainan, including Sanya, Haikou Danzhou, Qionghai, Wanning, Wuzhishan, Lingshui, Baoting and Ding’an.
The price index is aimed at bringing more transparency and reliability to estimating tourism pricing in Hainan and improving the tourism market system.
The tourist price index is currently released on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis at the website www.tourpi.org.
