Hainan received 3.11 million tourists from home and abroad during the 2015 Spring Festival holiday, up 19.49% year on year.
At the same time, Hainan’s tourism revenue rose 24.62% with RMB 9.434 billion this year, according to the Hainan Tourism Development Commission.

Aside from rural tourism, duty-free stores across the island also saw a sharp increase in tourist arrivals. The two duty-free shops in the Haikou Meilan Airport and at Sanya Haitang Bay received 179,000 and 219,7000 visitors, respectively.
