The 2015 China International Badminton Challenge is set to kick off on January 27th at the Agile Gymnasium in the Lingshui Culture and Sports Square in Lingshui County.

 

The 7-day tournament brings together the top individuals or pairs in each category – men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles.

 

The tournament attracts top players from China, the United States, Holland, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.

 

The tournament has been held in Lingshui for 4 consecutive years. Last year’s event attracted the top-ranked players including Lin Dan of China and Li Zongwei of Malaysia as well as the Olympic doubles champions Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng.

 

The badminton competition is one of the IBF series events sponsored by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and the event is expected to boost the city’s international tourism image.
