Hainan Western Ring Railway to be put into use at end of 2015
The Hainan Western Ring High-speed Railway is under construction and is expected to begin operation at the end of 2015.
Built with a total investment of nearly 27.1 billion yuan, the western ring railway started construction on September 2013.
This line is intended to facilitate easier travel between tourist destinations including Haikou, Chengmai, Lingao, Danzhou, Changjiang, Dongdang, Ledong, Yacheng and Sanya. The rail line will have 16 stations and bullet trains running on the line which are designed for a top speed of 200 km/h.
Upon its completion, the rail line will link up with the Eastern Ring Railway and form a circuit around the island.
