Hainan ranked 3rd among 30 provinces (and municipalities/autonomous regions) nationwide in the most recent satisfaction survey on China’s Green Development Index jointly compiled by Beijing Normal University, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and the National Bureau of Statistics.

According to the report, Beijing snatched first place, followed by Qinghai, Hainan, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Inner Mongolia, Fujian, Tianjin, Jiangsu and Shanxi, in the green development index.

Meanwhile, Haikou topped the green development satisfaction survey, followed by Shenzhen, Karamay, Wuxi, Qingdao, Kunming, Zhanjiang, Yantai and Changsha. 
 

The annual report is based on 3 criteria including the greenness of economic growth, the potential of natural resources, and support from government policies.
