New World Hotels recently announced that its hotel in Haikou will be opened in 2014: a move to reinforce its strategic expansion plans in mainland China.

New World Haikou Hotel will be a 350-room, multi-storey deluxe hotel on Haikou bay, located five minutes' drive to the city centre. The ocean-facing hotel will be part of a multi-use complex of residential units and serviced apartments, a convention center, retail outlets, and a cultural center.

The hotel will offer a total of 1,700 square meters of meeting space, including an 800-square-meter ballroom and six function rooms, and it will also be linked to a substantial meeting and convention center.

New World Hotel, which is one of Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality's growing portfolio of brands, is targeting to more than double in size by 2015.
