An eye-catching private villa in Niumianling Village of Zhongyuan Township in Qionghai City, Hainan, has been drawing attention online recently for its appearance that resembles a miniature version of the US Capitol in Washington D.C.

The villa lies on a hilltop, and it is close to the China National Highway 223 and the G98 Hainan Ring Expressway. Drivers on both of the highways can see its large dome from a distance.

According to the house owner, a local farmer Mr. Xv, the US Capitol-inspired villa covers more than 200 square meters and was designed by him and his brother.

"We wanted to make the villa a little special in appearance, but more important, we wanted to create a beautiful landscape in the Hainan countryside.”
