Qiongzhong, in Hainan Province, was recently named “China's Most Beautiful Ethnic Culture City”.

 

The criteria for this award centered on the local environment, unique local culture, intelligent tourism, leisure customs, natural surroundings, environmental protection, management creativity, comprehensive services, brand leadership, distribution of responsibility, and talent development.

 

The contest featured expert evaluation, online popular voting, and media monitoring in the awarding of prizes in the areas of ecotourism, cultural tourism, and local ethnic culture.

 

In recent years Qiongzhong has taken advantage of its vibrant local Li and Miao ethnic cultures, ecological resources, excellent geographic location, and leadership in green development to become a more and more popular tourist destination, one of many fascinating towns in the southern tropical island province of Hainan.
