Hainan doctor continu treating head-injury patient while being attacked
A doctor at the Sanya People’s Hospital in Hainan province won public applause after he continued treating a head-injury patient while being attacked by another person. He pulled through the attack and eventually managed to save the patient’s life, Oriental Daily reports.
The patient was suffering from hypoxia. Doctor Wang Xixiong began administering oxygen to the patient’s body with the help of a machine when an unidentified man suddenly began hitting the doctor violently.
Wang continued administering oxygen until the patient came to. The suspect was quickly detained by guards.
Wang’s actions won him public praise and a charity awarded him with 10,000 yuan for disseminating positive energy and safeguarding public trust and respect.
The doctor, who’s now recovering in his own hospital, said that saving the patient’s life despite being beaten was his responsibility.
