Baoting to exhibit intangible cultural heritage items in Binglanggu Valley
11 national intangible cultural heritages from Hainan have been well preserved at the Binglanggu Valley, including the tree bark clothes and the largest dragons quilt of the Li minority in the world.
An exhibition displaying the achievements made by the Baoting County of Hainan Province in protecting its intangible cultural heritage will be held at Binglanggu Valley from July 30th to August 1st, 2014.
Several intangible cultural heritage protection items will be on display, such as the Li minority’s spinning, weaving, dyeing and embroidering techniques, the Miao minority’s dying and embroidering techniques, traditional bamboo musical instruments and the making fire by rubbing sticks technique.
To better showcase the county’s progress in protecting these intangible cultural items, the practitioners of various arts will be on site to demonstrate the techniques of creating their art.
