Hainan’s Wanning sees tourism boom in May-June, 2014
In May and June, Wanning received 439,000 overnight tourists, up 16.2% year-on-year and tourism revenue increased 23.8% year-on-year to 345 million yuan.
Besides, the number of tourist arrivals to Wanning’s scenic spots in May and June has more than doubled over the same period of last year.
In the first half of this year, Wanning received 1.76 million overnight tourist arrivals, a year-on-year increase of 12.8%, and the tourism revenue reached 1.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%. During the period, the average hotel occupancy rate was as high as 53.1%.
The government plans to further the development of new tourism products to appeal to visitors such as the Xinglong coffee town, Xinglong national green lane, a surfing site in Riyue Bay and other rural tourism facilities in Wentong Village, Lumatian Village, Quchong Village and so on.
Besides, a proposal of improving Wanning’s transport infrastructure and accommodation facilities to serve tourism development will be put forth.
