The sewage treatment plant on Yongxing Island in Sansha City of Hainan Province is structurally ready and is scheduled to be put into operation this October.

Starting construction in January this year, the sewage treatment plant covers a land area of 2,000 sqm and involves an investment of 78 million yuan.

The plant will be capable of treating 1,800 tons of wastewater a day, which could be used to flush roads and toilets, irrigate the greenbelt and wash vehicles.

At present, a total of 7.5 kilometers of pipe have been laid during the project.
