Hainan province saw its foreign trade value for the first half of this year increase 5.1% year on year to RMB 47.74 billion, according to statistics released by the Haikou customs.

 

From Jan to Jun, the province saw its export value increase 6.6% year on year to RMB 12.81 billion, and its import value amounted to RMB 34.93 billion, reflecting a year on year increase of 3.7%.

 

The province's foreign invested enterprises realized RMB 37.73 billion in foreign trade value in the first six months, up 7.3% year on year. Its private enterprises generated RMB 4.89 in foreign trade in the period.

 

In the first half of this year, Hainan's foreign trade with Middle East surged 37.5% from a year earlier to RMB 14.14 billion and its foreign trade with the E.U. went up 83.6% year on year to RMB 5.12 billion.
