Former Hainan senior work safety official sentenced to 12 yrs over bribery
A former senior work safety official in south China's Hainan Province was sentenced to 12 years in jail on Wednesday for bribery by a local court.
Haikou Intermediate People's Court convicted Wang Yingfu, former head of the Hainan Provincial Work Safety Administration, of taking bribes totalling 2.05 million yuan (333,000 U.S. dollars) and seeking illegal economic interests for others. Wang used the money for personal and family expenditure.
His personal property of 400,000 yuan was confiscated. The defendant said he would appeal.
