Hainan Women’s Federation, from south China’s Hainan Province, has recently awarded 30 families the title "Most Beautiful Family". Forty-two families were nominated and 10 organizations were awarded "excellent organization".
 
In this context, "Beautiful" doesn’t refer to physical attractiveness, but references instead a beauty of the mind and spirit, with the hope that this internal beauty is reflected onto the wider society.
 
Women’s federations at all levels rely on the local "Women’s Homes", to widely publicize and mobilize active participation.

This campaign gained massive media attention, and women’s federations across China have started searching for the ‘Most Beautiful Families’ by promoting the campaign in various ways.
 
The promotion was in line with a video and telephone conference held by the ACWF in Beijing on February 24, 2014, during which the campaign to find the ‘Most Beautiful Families’ was officially launched across the country.

The campaign was launched after remarks made by Chinese President Xi Jinping while he met with the newly elected ACWF leadership, with the aim of implementing key points of the 11th National Women’s Congress held in late October last year.
