A recent interview with the man who’s racked up over 5,000 bras for his collection in Hainan has given a tad more insight into the intention behind his hobby.
 
Chen Qingzu said he’s spent the past two decades obtaining used bras from college students to promote breast cancer awareness, in, I guess, the least creepy way one could possibly go about obtaining used bras from college students.
 
"I usually collected used bras at the gates of universities. When I asked female students to give their used bras to me, they would feel very embarrassed. Some would abuse me, and what’s worse, some girls’ boyfriends would try to beat me," he said.
 
Chen explained that more people were willing to help when they understood his goal, which, yes still ends with his creation of a "bra museum" after his collection reaches 10,000 bras.
