Hainan’s retail sales up 12.1% at RMB 27.6 billion in Q1 of 2014
Retail sales in south China's Hainan province grew 12.1% year on year to RMB 27.61 billion in the first quarter of this year, according to data from the Hainan Statistics Bureau.
Total retail sales in urban areas rose 10.8% year on year to RMB 23.74 billion in the three-month period, while retail sales in rural areas rose 21.3% year on year to RMB 3.87 billion in the period.
From Jan to Mar 2014, retail sales in the catering industry grew 11.7% year on year to RMB 4.56 billion in the first three months.
The retail sales of daily commodities rose 21.0% year on year in the first three months, while retail sales of garments grew 38.2% year on year in the period.
