Hainan Basuo port cargo surpasses 1 million tonnes record in March 2014
Southern China’s Hainan provincial port of Basuo posted a year-on-year 36 per cent increase in cargo volume to one million tonnes in March, setting a record high, reports Xinhua.
The robust growth of the port was attributed to its substantial increase in the industrial products such as chemical raw materials, petroleum and natural gas and non-metallic ore.
With a designed annual handling capacity of 10 million tonnes, the Basuo port is one of the three major ports in Hainan province.
