According to the Hainan Railway authority, the Hainan Railway is expected to transport 229,000 passengers during the 3-day May Day holiday.

 

Regular trains will carry a total of 24,000 passengers, around a 20% rise compared to last year, and the daily number will reach 6,000. Meanwhile, the bullet trains of the Hainan Eastern Ring Railway will carry around 205,000 passengers, with the number carried daily 6,000 during the Festival.

 

The passenger flow consists of short-term travel groups, passengers en route or visiting friends and relatives.

 

The Hainan Railway Station has added an extra 4 pairs of trains during the holiday to best meet passengers’ travel demands.
