There are more than 100 animation enterprises in Hainan providing training programs on animation and cartoon creation, according to reports.

Construction on the Hainan Animation Industry Base began in 2011and has attracted a total investment of 350 million yuan so far. There are 110 enterprises that have settled in the base so far, generating sales revenue of 21 million yuan, Han said.

According to Han Yunfeng, general manger of the contractor firm, the base kicked off its 3rd-phase project, called “Cloudy Valley”, in order to attract more high-tech enterprises, and the total investment is expected to reach 1 billion yuan.

The base is designed to consist of animation filming, cultural media, network technology, intelligent tourism platforms, digital imaging, Internet of Things and an Internet financial services operation center.
